World Logo

All teams are reminded the 2010 World Broomball Championship Logo is the property of the IFBA and no duplication or reproduction of the logo is permitted unless authorized by the IFBA.  Those teams submitting a request to use the logo and are granted permission, may be required to pay a fee for the reproduction.

 
What’s Happening In Innsbruck?

The organization of the event is going very well and credit must be given to the Olympiaworld staff specifically Lukas Matosevic who is working flat out preparing the internal components  to help the athletes when they arrive.

Registration Changes

Yes...that’s correct...after Burnaby, it was necessary to review the way in which the registration is being coordinated on the Monday night.  For Innsbruck, all athletes, coaches, managers, staff, volunteers, Executive, Sponsors and pets will have their pictures taken and mounted on a plasticized card for their commemorative ID during the event.  The cards will also be used for many events during the week so once you receive your event ID...HANG ONTO IT!

Furthermore, in the next month, all teams will be receiving information how to register.  Due to the large amount of people required to register, the organizers are going to start the registration process on the Saturday (for the photo ID) to process local teams and visiting teams arriving early.  Sunday will also be open for ID processing and again on Monday morning.  If most of the teams are signed off by 6 pm Monday, the balance should not take long and the Coaching meeting could start as early as 8 pm.

The organizers are also researching ways to possibly send photos to the Host Office with names attached for processing.  This has not been confirmed yet.  Once we can confirm the pictures have a good resolution that can be used, a notice will be sent out to all the attending teams.

All teams will still be required to sign off on the waiver forms and personal ID’s (and not the one issued for the event) in the form of passports or drivers licence with photo ID.  I know your probably groaning and saying a few choice words...but there will be three huge areas in the Landssportcenter which will be used and teams will be divided up into three categories:

1. NORTH AMERICA
1. Includes teams from Canada & USA (2 guest teams since there is no official organization in the USA)
2. Pacific Rim
1. Includes teams from Australia, Japan
3. Europe
1. Includes teams from Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Switzerland, Great Britain, Germany, and Russia......yes!  there is a men’s team expressing interest to participate from Moscow...great news for the sport and we welcome them with open arms!

For the benefit for those who send the frustrating emails trying to ascertain where the Worlds are being held due to contradictory web site advertising,...

THE IFBA IS PROUD TO HAVE AN INTERNATIONAL MEMBERSHIP BASE TO HOST A TRUE INTERNATIONAL BROOMBALL CHAMPIONSHIP! WHICH IS BEING HOSTED IN INNSBRUCK AUSTRIA... not that other place, which has no national membership.........

For clarification:
”THE IFBA IS NOT PART OF /OR/ SANCTIONS ANY GLOBAL WEEKEND EVENT THAT MAY BE ADVERTISED AS INTERNATIONAL BROOMBALL!”
